Solar generation forecast data now available on em6

em6 has released a Solar Generation Forecast widget, available to subscribers via the Generation tab and to all users on the free-to-air dashboard at app.em6.co.nz. The widget displays forecasted solar generation data from the EA's intermittent generation forecast data provider alongside cleared generation figures from solar farms.

The tool calculates, and shows, the discrepancy between forecast and cleared values as well as actual generation data for the preceding eight hours.

The Wind Generation Forecast widget has also been updated to use data from the new provider. Users can now select between nationwide, North or South Island views adding extra context. Unfortunately we are no longer able to publish 10th and 90th percentile values.
